WildCore™ Recon — Wireless Feed Level Sensor

Know when your feeder is running low — before the animals do.

Backed by our 1-year limited warranty.

Overview

Stop Guessing How Much Feed Is Left

Recon mounts inside the hopper and reports your feed level straight to the WildCore portal, so a refill trip is a decision, not a guess.

📊

Feed Level on Your Dashboard

See how much feed is left in the hopper from anywhere, in the same portal that runs your feed schedule. No trip to the feeder to find out.

🔔

Low-Feed Alerts

Get told before a feeder runs empty, so you refill on your schedule instead of discovering the problem on a wasted drive.

📶

Fully Wireless

Pairs to your controller wirelessly. No extra wiring to run between the sensor and the controller.

📦

Mounts in Seconds

Three powerful magnets hold Recon to the underside of your hopper lid. No brackets, no drilling, no tools — it lives inside the hopper, out of the way of the feed path and out of the weather.

💰

No Extra Plan

Runs on the WildCore plan you already have on that feeder. No separate Recon subscription, no add-on fee.

📱

No Second App

Reports through the portal you already use. Same dashboard, same login, same alerts.

Before You Order

Recon Is an Add-On, Not a Standalone Monitor

It reports through a WildCore controller. Here is exactly what you need on the feeder.

✅ What Recon requires

  • A WildCore™ Pro on the same feeder. Recon pairs to the Pro and reports through it. See the Pro →
  • An active WildCore plan on that feeder. The one you already have — Recon does not need its own.
  • One Recon per feeder. Each sensor pairs to one controller.

Running a WildCore Mini on that feeder? You will need a Pro on it before Recon can report. Not sure which controller you have, or which you need? Compare Mini and Pro →

At Scale

Across a Whole Property

One feeder or hundreds — the value is the same, it just multiplies.

📡 Refill What Actually Needs It

Add Recon and each feeder reports how much feed is left, straight to your dashboard. Across a lot of feeders, you refill the ones that need it — not the ones you guessed at.

🗺 One View, Every Feeder

Feed levels sit alongside the rest of your feeder status in Ranch Mode, grouped however your property is grouped. See Ranch Mode →

⛽ Fewer Wasted Trips

Every drive you do not have to make is fuel, time, and daylight back. On a big lease that is the whole argument.

Questions

Recon FAQ

Does Recon work on its own?
No. Recon is an add-on sensor, not a standalone device. It pairs to a WildCore™ Pro controller on the same feeder and reports through it, so the feed level shows up in the WildCore portal alongside everything else that feeder is doing.
Which WildCore controller do I need?
Recon pairs with a WildCore Pro on the same feeder. If a feeder is currently running a Mini, that feeder needs a Pro before Recon can report from it. One Recon pairs to one controller.
How does Recon install?
In seconds, with no tools. Put the batteries in first, while Recon is still in your hands — the battery door sits between the sensor and the lid, so you cannot reach it once it is mounted. Then place Recon near the center of the underside of your hopper lid, where three powerful magnets grab and hold it. It pairs to your controller wirelessly, so there is no extra wiring to run. When it is time to change batteries, do not pull straight down — the magnets hold hard. Pry gently near one magnet with a large flat-head screwdriver. Setup walkthroughs live in Support.
Do I need another subscription for Recon?
No. Recon reports through the WildCore plan already active on the paired feeder. There is no separate Recon plan, no add-on fee, and no second app or login.
Can I use Recon across a lot of feeders?
Yes. One Recon goes on each feeder you want to monitor. In Ranch Mode you see feed levels across the whole property on one dashboard, so you refill the feeders that actually need it instead of driving the whole route.
How long does the Recon battery last?
It depends on your battery quality and how often the sensor reports. Recon is designed to be a set-it-and-forget-it device for the season, and we continue to optimize battery performance over time through free firmware updates. We recommend Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries for the longest life, especially in heat.
My hopper lid is plastic or aluminum — will the magnets work?
Most hopper lids are steel and Recon sticks right on. For plastic or aluminum lids, do what our customers do: glue a thin piece of steel (round works best) to the underside of the lid with outdoor caulk or adhesive, and mount Recon to that.
